Introduction

SBRC (Samaji Behbood RAbita council) is a non government non political and nonprofit organization working in KPK. It has been established for the rights of poor and vulnerable class in the society. Having a unique and strict social setup KPK is known for the hardest Patriarchal system where women rights are denied, discrimination are made on the basis of cast and religious, children of the society are often enjoying their basic rights.

Samajee Behbood Rabita Council (SBRC) is a united platform of the CBOs of District Swabi, established in January 1994 with a prime mandate of community development. SBRC has always made efforts to encourage the emergence and formation of new CBOs in the area and strengthen the capacity of the pre-merged ones. Its members CBOs comprises of male and female organizations.

SBRC is focused on the rights of the most vulnerable and marginalized segments of the community i.e. women, children and minorities, it uses the human right base approach in their programming to end social injustice, gender discrimination and right violation on sustainable way and create an environment where everyone in the community have equitable access to resources with full control.

To have a peaceful society, where everyone has equitable access to all the available resources with dignity to end poverty and injustice on sustainable basis.

Mission statement

Mobilizing and organizing the poor, marginalized and vulnerable class of the society by enhancing their capacity and link them together to raise their voices and take actions against the social in justice and their rights violation.

Program Area:

Three Districts of KPK i.e. Swabi, ,Nowshehra and Mardan, SBRC has the management capacity to cover any number of districts in KPK, Pakistan.

Program Sectors:

Social Mobilization: (Main component of the program in 56 UCs of district Swabi, 10 UCs of district mardan and Nowshera).

Health & Nutrition: (This section has implemented CHIP funded six projects and is still in liaison with CHIP in swabi). Besides, SBRC also implemented 5 health related projects with the financial support of multiple donors.

Women Development & Empowerment: SBRC is working on women development and empowerment since 1993 with the financial assistance of Aurat Foundation, Oxfam, We Can, American refugee committee, The asia foundation TAF, in district Swabi.

Agriculture (Food Security & Hunger Rights): SBRC is working in agriculture (food security and hunger rights) sector since 1996 in district Swabi with the financial support of multiple donors SNPO

Governance: (This section has done a lot work on good governance with the support of Devolution Trust For Community Empowerment (DTCE)

Gender & Education: SBRC is prioritizing education specially girls education in district swabi, with the support of Save the children, Children first, WECAN, Aurat foundation and CHIP total 11 projects have been implemented in three district of KPK

Food, NFIs & Shelter: SBRC has successfully responded to the disaster and emergency situation and provided relief items including food items, NFIs and shelter to 450 households of district Nowshera. It has also continued relief and service delivery under its earthquake recovery project in Mansehra and Muzafar Abad-Azad Jammu & Kashmir. SBRC has distributed food & NFIs among the Swat-operation affected masses in Mardan with cost of Rs. 10 million. During the swat operation it responded to the IDP’s camps in swabi and distributed NFI and FI of Rs.10 million with the support of Church world Services CWS/ CHIP

Adult and Non-formal Education: (SBRC established Sixty Two literacy centers with the support of CHIP, in district Swabi.
